How we work with schools and leaders

Whether you're a headteacher looking to build staff capability, a SENCO navigating new statutory requirements, or someone aspiring to senior leadership and ready to invest in getting there, you're in the right place.

Many schools find us through our CPD offer. They come back for Consult. Their leaders stay for Coach.

Cultivate.

Practical, accredited training that changes how your school feels for everyone in it.

We deliver bespoke, accredited CPD in your school — designed around what your staff actually need, not a generic off-the-shelf package.

Our training is grounded in neuroscience and real SEN school leadership experience. We work with schools on the training that matters most right now: understanding why children behave as they do, building the internal provision to support them well, and examining the cultural and identity factors that shape how behaviour is seen and responded to in your school.

All Cultivate programmes are designed around your school's specific context. We don't do one-size-fits-all.

Examples of what we deliver:

• Behaviour & the Brain — de-escalation and behaviour science grounded in neuroscience

• Building Internal AP & Resource Provisions — practical support for schools developing in-house alternatives to exclusion

• Culture, Identity & Behaviour — understanding how cultural norms and identity shape behaviour

• Behaviour Policy into Practice — turning whole-school policy into something that actually lives in classrooms

• Leading Through Menopause — supporting schools to understand and respond to the impact of menopause on staff

• Circle of Change — a structured programme for teams navigating significant organisational change

• Positive Handling & De-escalation — Level 1 and Level 2 training delivered by an approved Team Teach trainer

Accredited CPD certificates issued. Suitable for mainstream primary and secondary schools, special schools and social care settings. Get in touch to discuss what your school needs.

Consult.

Helping schools build genuinely inclusive cultures, not just compliant ones.

When a training day isn't enough — when what your school needs is expert hands-on support to make lasting change — that's where Consult comes in.

With more than 25 years of SEN school leadership, Maureen brings the kind of expertise that goes beyond reading the guidance. She has built inclusive schools from the inside. She knows what works, what doesn't, and what schools are often missing when inclusion remains a policy intention rather than a lived reality.

New statutory requirements around SEND, inclusion strategies and belonging mean schools are under more pressure than ever to show that inclusion is real and evidenced. Good Gift's Consult offer helps you build something you can be proud of — not just something that passes a review.

What Consult includes:

  • Classroom environment audits

  • Inclusion strategy development

  • Whole-school policy implementation — moving behaviour and inclusion from policy into practice

  • Observation and individual pupil support

  • Direct support for SLT decision-making

Consult work is bespoke and priced according to scope. Get in touch to start the conversation.

Coach.

Supporting school leaders to thrive in role, as the leaders they truly are.

School leadership is one of the most demanding roles there is. The weight of responsibility, the complexity of relationships, the relentlessness of the pace... and underneath all of that, the question of whether you are showing up as the leader you want to be.

Coach is for leaders who are ready to invest in themselves. Not as a luxury, but as a professional necessity.

Maureen offers one-to-one coaching and supervision for new, aspiring and serving school leaders. One relationship, different formats depending on what you need. Sometimes that's coaching to develop clarity, confidence and direction. Sometimes it's supervision to process the emotional weight of the role and build sustainable resilience. Often it's both.

Good Gift has particular expertise supporting leaders who have had to mask, code-switch or shrink to fit in order to get to the table. If you've spent your career working twice as hard to be taken half as seriously, this is a space built for you.

What Coach includes:

  • One-to-one coaching for new and aspiring leaders

  • One-to-one coaching for serving headteachers and deputies

  • Group coaching programmes

  • Supervision for headteachers and DSLs

  • Coaching specifically for leaders from underrepresented groups — including leaders from Black and minority ethnic backgrounds, from the LGBTQIA+ community, disabled leaders, and those navigating neurodivergence in senior roles

Good Gift works with individual leaders and with schools and trusts who commission coaching for their staff. We welcome enquiries from both. We do believe, however, that coaching for school leaders shouldn't be a personal expense.  Organisations that truly invest in their people commission it on their behalf. If you're a trust or school leader thinking about how to support your leadership pipeline, we'd love that conversation.

A free 30-minute discovery call is available for all coaching and supervision enquiries.
